1. Acknowledgment of Risks

I, the undersigned customer, hereby acknowledge that I have requested Locksmith Kev to perform spare key services on my vehicle’s key(s). I understand that while key cloning poses no risks for bricking or similar issues, other services related to key programming and diagnostics may involve certain risks, including but not limited to:

• The potential for the newly programmed key to malfunction or not work as intended.

• Possible interference with the original key’s functionality.

• The triggering of the vehicle’s anti-theft or immobiliser systems.

• The potential voiding of any existing vehicle warranties related to the electronic systems.

• Loss of advanced features that may be present on the original key.

• Battery drainage issues.

2. Ownership Verification and Compliance with Laws

I affirm that I am the legal owner of the vehicle for which the spare key service is being requested or that I have obtained explicit permission from the vehicle’s owner. I understand that Locksmith Kev will require proof of ownership or authorisation before proceeding with the service. I also acknowledge that the key programming process will comply with all relevant UK laws, including those related to vehicle security, anti-theft measures, and data protection as outlined in the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. Waiver of Liability

I hereby release and discharge Locksmith Kev, its employees, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising out of or in connection with the spare key services provided, including but not limited to any damage to my vehicle, any failure of the key or vehicle systems, or any legal issues that may arise, except where such claims arise from Locksmith Kev’s negligence.

4. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Locksmith Kev, its employees, agents, and representatives against any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including attorney’s fees, arising out of or resulting from the spare key services provided.

5. No Warranty

I acknowledge that Locksmith Kev does not guarantee the functionality, reliability, or compatibility of the newly programmed key with my vehicle. I understand that this service is provided “as is” without any warranties, express or implied, except as required under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

6. Data Protection

I understand that any personal data handled during the spare key service process will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. Locksmith Kev will take all reasonable steps to protect any personal information collected during the service.
